SBL’s Geospatial Services division has supported mining projects around the world. SBL Qatar is able to access this global expertise and support mining surveys within the Middle East region. Typically we use remote sensing techniques, usually from satellite imagery, to identify mineral prioritisation zones prior to more in-depth field surveys of the priority areas. These detailed surveys can also be completed using an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) from which we derive digital surface and digital terrain models as well as topographic map data for use in mining software.
